11/28/2011 - Spent Thanksgiving day in St Paul then Saturday in Omaha. Good to see both sides of our family on those visits. Ben is in the Southwest band and will be performing at Pearl Harbor next week, marking the 70th anniversary of the attack. They will be in Honolulu Monday-Saturday. Hope your Christmas season is Merry.

12/9/2010 - Thanks to the many who've conveyed their thoughts here and elsewhere on the anniversary of Lauren's death. We are deeply touched by this rememberence. The J's.

7/26/2010 - Summer is quickly whizzing by us. Ben finished baseball last Saturday. They were the youngins in the 13-14 yr old league and were competitive in most games. They finished 2-0-1 in their last 3 regular season games. Wait until next year. Ben tried his had at detassling for a week this year. He was driven to make money and that he did. His job was shortened as he had the tournament then had to finish getting ready for the Boy Scout National Jamboree. His troop will be at Fort AP Hill starting today then tour DC next week. His troop for this event is made up of scouts from Lincoln and southeastern Nebraska. You can follow them through pictures at http://gallery.me.com/scouterdan#100261 Jill headed a CureSearch walk team which did well again and we attended Lincoln's Relay for Life a week ago. Attendence seemed down. It was a very hot and muggy night but I think they were right at their goal. We continue to see the orange LJ shirts which makes us smile that so many people continue to honor her. Hope everyone's summer has gone and finishes out well. Thanks for stopping by and posting.

2/13/2010 - Happy Sweet 16 to you Lauren! Hope you have a sweet car to drive in heaven.

12/8/2009 - So did Lauren send Ben and all of her friend a snow day.........Two years and we still miss you as much as ever.

The morning of December 8, 2007, Lauren lost her battle with Leukemia and left us for a place in Heaven with no pain, no needles and no sickness. She is one of God’s special angels now.

WELCOME

This web site is dedicated to our friend Lauren. We are so grateful to the many friends and family who are praying for Lauren, and hopefully this web site will keep everyone "in the loop" with her progress as she fights leukemia. In November, 2007, at age 13, Lauren has been diagnosed with Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia (ALL).

Lauren was 4 ½ years old when first diagnosed with Wilms’ Tumor in the summer of ’98. With surgical removal of her left kidney, chemotherapy, and radiation; Lauren successfully fought this disease. In June, 2005, at age 11, Lauren was diagnosed with recurrent Wilms’ Tumor in her right lung. With chemotherapy, surgery, and radiation; Lauren again successfully fought this disease and with her entire right lung intact! The exact ALL treatment course is yet unknown, but experience of others, tells us this road is long.

To learn more about these types of cancers, please visit our resources page. As Lauren progresses with her treatments, we will update our friends here. Thank you for your love, support and prayers.

This site is being maintained by family friends and any errors or omissions are ours, not the family's. Please do not mistake this web site as an attempt to insulate the family from your contact and concern. They welcome your calls and good wishes.

Hi Johnson's. Thinking of you and LJ especially today and trying to focus on the many unforgettable memories we've had. After LJ died, I wrote one down each night so as not to forget and it's difficult to think that I've lost some of those details already. I miss the sound of her laughter or the ridiculousness of her dance moves. I miss watching countless youtube videos searching for the best one yet. I miss hearing those Napoleon Dynamite quotes applied perfectly during a conversation. I miss being around someone who did not have a care in the world about what others thought of her. Four years have passed, but I still think of her every day. I still wear the peace necklace around my neck as a reminder of the joyous life she lived. I am thankful for the time we shared together, for a beautiful friendship, and for the joy that she brought to my life. Prayers today and always. Love, Kim

Time has done nothing to heal my wounds. They bleed still as if it only happened yesterday. Nothing in my life has altered me so drastically as losing her. I hope your family is doing well. Hopefully a thousand times better than me. Every free write I've ever been given in class, I write about her. Lauren's death has changed me so powerfully. My mother may argue for the worst. I'll be lucky to be half the person she was; so joyful, so forgiving of her undeserved pain. She was the girl broke the silence. The girl who could brighten any day. To the end of the earth I would go to retrieve her. I will never forget her. I will never stop loving her.
